Any and all advice would be appreciated for my first roadtrip!
Hi, I'm new to roadtripping and, of course, this forum and could really use any and all tips, advice, and help anyone here could give on how to do a successful roadtrip, and, more importantly any interesting places to go along the way. Myself and a friend will be flying down to Orlando Florida on January 3 to pick up a third friend (whom we haven't seen in a long while) and spending a day there (figured why not check out the theme parks...), and after having our fill (around 10 days or so), we will return to our hometown of Corpus Christi Tx. Other than that, it's basically in the air as to where we go, and any suggestions would be appreciated. Basically the only restrictions would be 1.) no camping... it's rather cold in January... even if we are in the south 2.) We must be back in 10 days or so and 3.) It cannot be super expensive, we are college students afterall (Hotels will be taken care of... Motels and hotel 6's/red roof inn's all the way :)...) So... if anyone has been in the area between Orlando and South Texas (includes Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississipi, Louisianna, Texas, and possibly any neighboring states that wouldn't be too off track, please let me know of anything that would be fun to do. Thanks for your help! (and for reading this rather lengthy topic)

Welcome to the Great American RoadTrip Forum! For starters I would suggest reading about what we refer to as the roadtrip profile and have all of our trip companions take the roadtrip compatibility quiz.
