Seattle to Yellowstone...any suggestions?

Howdy all! Taking our 78 VW bus from Seattle to Yellowstone, via Couer d'Alene. Spending 3 nights in the park. Any great stops along the way or any must visit sites...would love to know. We leave 25 Aug, returning to Seattle Area on the 10th.

Here's a report on a trip I did around Spokane, Coeur d'Alene, and points south last year. Do you have any specific interests? Is your '78 classic up to the trip?

thanks for the info. looking forward to a bit of geology myself. going to do some rockhounding in MT. the VW just had quite a major surgery, she's healed and ready to roar!
