Well, for awhile at least a part of it here in northern Illinois between Chicago and Rockford will be closed in Dekalb from August 25th to 27th.
Dekalb is having its annual Cornfest on those dates. Over 50,000 annually attend the three days of fun, music, and food. The headline group will be Survivor, of "Eye of the Tiger" fame. Plus Saturday the 26th, they will have free sweet corn from 11 AM to 2. Main street through Dekalb is the old Lincoln Highway.
About 20 miles west on L-H, the town of Rochelle is having their annual Lincoln Highway Heritage Festival the same weekend. Besides the music and fun, they will also be having a fly-in and antique tractor and truck show.
So, if you're out and about this way, stop in. My wife and I will be attending both, but wish they'd have it on two different weekends.
