Hi!
My wife and I are relocating to NYC. We are looking at middle of August to middle of September this year. What is the best time to go within these dates and could you recommend the best route and/or quickest route to take?
Thanks and cheers..

If you could avoid NYC in August I would suggest you do that! The weather will cooling in September, and will be much nicer for a cross-country jaunt!Originally Posted by snorkledoodle

It must be the time of year to move cross country, just yesterday someone was looking to move from NYC to So Cal.
The route that I came up with being the shortest was used 1-15/I-40/I-44/I-70, however, as I also said in that post, the differences between using I-40, I-70 through Colorado, or I-80 are so small relative to the total distance, you really can use whichever route looks most appealing without a significant difference in your total travel time.
I would agree that September would be a much more appealing time to travel. Not only is the weather cooler, but with school back in session, there are generally fewer travelers on the road.
