michigan to anaheim, california

I am single Mom of 3 girls, 4,7,10 we are going to be going to anaheim Ca in July. we have 2 weeks to do this. Any suggestions of the best way to get there, the only stop that we really want to do is to the grand canyon.

Any suggestions on what is really cool to visit or the best route?

Welcome to the Great American RoadTrip Forum! Where in Michigan are you starting from? I can't tell, is the two weeks a round trip period? If so, how long are you planning to be in Anaheim? By the fastest possible route it would be three days to get from ~Detroit to Anaheim and if you are spending 3-4 days in California (?) then you will have 5-6 to get home. We will have lots of suggestions but we need some more parameters.

we live 10 miles from the indiana/ michigan state line.

yes, that is the round trip time, we need to spend at least 4 days in anaheim and its open from there.

we will leaving july 8 and need to back by july 22.
