LA to Longmont CO

Hi everyone New user here.

My family and I will be moving to CO next friday, from Los Angeles. We will be driving our Odyssessy with three kids(yes 3). Ages 7,4 and 18 months. We purchased a DVD player to entertain them.

We are planning to start driving after the movers leave. I am thinking 12-1 in the afternoon.

We want to do cover at least 450-500 miles the first day, break for the night at Richfield, UT and then continue the next morning.

Is this doable? Too ambitious? The longest my kids have gone on a trip has been to Vegas.

Any ideas/tips?

Where to stay in Richfield? How is the route/drive?

Welcome to the Great American RoadTrip Forum! You are in for a scenic treat on Day Two -- here is why I consider I-70 to be one of the most scenic roads in America.

Is this doable? Too ambitious? The longest my kids have gone on a trip has been to Vegas.

If were me, I would spend that first night in either Las Vegas or Cedar City. You are going to beat and darn tired trying to leave the same day the movers are at your place.

Where to stay in Richfield?

There are several choices in Richfield and, of course, Las Vegas and Cedar City.
