Nope -- it is "Manifold Destiny " it was originally published in 1989 and used ones can be found for ~ USD 43.00. A paperback reprint edition was issued in 1998 and sells for USD $62.00.

As for cooking on the engine, I never tried it personally (I'd probably just forget the thing there for a few days until I realize it smells strange and that my engine is filled with melted cheese) but someone I know tried it and apparently it worked pretty well... But you have to wrap your stuff tightly in tin foil if you don't want your food to be contaminated by toxic vapors.
That does make sense.

My last Road Kill score were two deers that jumped on the hood...
You are lucky you are still with us. A couple of days ago I had chipmunk-looking-something-or-other stare down the front bumper of my approaching truck and he/she had the gumption to root to that spot and I passed safely over him/her. Still amazed that it stayed in place and was standing upright almost challenging the truck!

--->Trivia : What State allows drivers to eat their own road kills?
Well, I did so well with the last one --- I am going to guess Montana...
Mark
it took you 6 days?!?!?!?!
Bob,
I am almost shocked! 6 days from PHX to Virgina??? And you weren't sightseeing!
As having done more than my fair share of single destination, non-sightseeing, get there ASAP trips... I can say that I could have shaved atleast 2 days off of that. I don't know how I do it, but I do.
Phoenix to Wenatchee, WA is an easy 2 days (most people would say 3 or 4), and thats with 1 driver.
I think that it's because on these straight through trips, I leave at 1 or 2 AM and end either when I am completely exausted, or 10-11 at night. Coming down from Washington last year I stoped at 7 PM the first day because I was tired, and the next motel 6 was like 100 miles further in Redding, CA. The next day I woke up at 2 and didn't get in to Phoenix until after 10 PM. Thats over 500 miles a day!
Tight budget, limited time... thats my specialty!
But... I must say though... the cost report was excelente! Gives us Cheap-Trippers (99 cent dollar menues at McDonalds and Gas Station Hot Dogs, with a big meal at Denny's in the morning), something to think about when planning the next trip, and those who spend entirely way too much on a roadtrip a way to cut down the costs.
Thanks for the report Bob!
And next time you see your son, tell him I said thanks...
