Looking good Mark! As you know, the only problem I had was that my "encrypted" email address that I posted in the old forum didn't transition to the new forum, but we got that resolved.
I like the new look and format of the forum as it's much more user-friendly now!
I like how the forum thinks my last visit was January 1, 1970, which was about 9 years and 2 months before I was born
Cheers!
Darrell
Glad to hear that it is working OK. Your User Title should be upgraded any moment now.
As far as the posting date goes -- new software is sometimes a little tricky and your editors are not the quickest speed demons on the road!

I've been roaming around, trying different functions -- I have not found any glitches so far, that I know of! Bob
Very nice, Mark & Co.! The new look is spiffy!

There have been some glitches, but on the whole it is moving forward
I had to reregister because my user name wasn't working and my email address attached to it was not longer good. Now I'm set to go explore!

Excellent! I've been waiting for something like this!
Looks good, except we need a big box-o-smileys to use next to where we script messages.
Can't wait for this to pick up members and grow!
Oh, and how about displaying our picture next to our posts in threads. Really helps to match a face with a person.
Nick,
Your smiling face (on the Member List) is all we need! Seriously, I really, really don't like "smileys". At some point, I may enable signatures and avatars, but I really want to keep this plain, simple and easy for 100% of our members to use.

Under Mac OS X, I noticed I can't log in using Safari 1.0.3 - I log in fine then the next page tells me I'm not logged in - this whilst having "accept all cookies" enabled. Firefox 1.0.1 works just fine, so I'm using that.
Under Linux, I have yet to try under Konqueror or Opera.
Otherwise, I like the cleanliness of the layout and the lack of smileys and avatars is a plus. I've always found them to be more of a distraction, anyway. I know I'm in the minority when it comes to the Web at large, though.
Tim,
That is interesting and helpful to know about Safari 1.0.3 -- I know that there seems to be a glitch on the log-in with the latest AOL version on Macs too. I will do some research on this issue.
Smileys are enabled (for now) on private messenging. But, like you, I favor clean, easy-to-read fonts & backgrounds with minimal graphics. Useful information will always be the focus (& goal) on this forum.
Please let me know what you find with both Konqueror and Opera.
I use Netscape 7.0, Firefox and IE.

I'm using Konqueror 3.3 right now, no glitches. Login was fine, everything appears to display correctly, too.
Tim,
Thanks for that update
Just wanted to put my two cents' worth in (worth less than your two cents in USA!)...
Mark and any others involved in setting up the website are doing a GREAT job. This must take up A LOT of your time, and probably is a thankless job. So THANK YOU. Looks great. Works great. Love the funny signs section and fuel calculator. Now if only it would print money...
Thanks for the kudos. One of these days maybe it will (print money).Quote:

Gen,
While it is true that your posts are priceless, such a valuation could be just a tad beyond what we can do at the moment. But we are considering adding a similar mileage program with benefits that arise from frequent and content-rich posts. That program will probably launch in the fall.
