Utah mostly, but touching into northern Arizona and a bit of Nevada!

I too would like to echo the previous comments, excellent stuff !

Excellent video and amazing pictures that make it obvious you had a great time, but to really "sum it up best," it would be nice if you were to share some thoughts, like the highlights of the trip, those special moments that made the trip unique to you, people and places and so forth, in text.

It's those personal feelings that always sums up another persons trip the best and seperates it from others, the thing that makes each road trip unique in my opinion.

There were plenty of highlights in the trip, most notably getting to False Kiva (Canyonlands) this time. I have way better photographs from the whole trip, but this is one memorable hike!
Seeing a coyote in Canyonlands after I had to return to Dead Horse Point to look for my lightmeter which I left there at sunrise, so thanks to the kind person who left it into the visitor centre – my first time in 10 years to leave a piece of kit during a shoot!
House on Fire in Mule Canyon is mega, for being exactly the way it looks in photographs…truly on fire!
Seeing a few big cargo planes flying around the mittens in Monument Valley was fantastic!
Shooting my most dangerous photo ever at Horseshoe Bend! It doesn’t look it in the photograph on my website, but the winds at that point on November 1st were getting stronger by the minute and we were being sand blasted the whole time (I’ll never get the sand out my tripod legs!). It was impossible to get to the edge to shoot the full bend in the river, but I couldn’t pass up the amazing light from sunset, even if it did mean a few trips to the ground whilst the next gale blew through!

This trip was similar to one I did the year before, just without the extra week in Yosemite & SF. But as a photographer there were a few smaller places I wanted to shoot, and a few to go back and shoot again! Not getting to False Kiva in 2010 was the catalyst to going back! Getting there was worth going back! And the south west is the kind of place I could go back again & again.

What I'd do differently? Not a lot! Maybe an extra day in Zion. I'd say an extra day in Bryce too, but just because it was due to snow...something you can't count on when planning.

Planning wise, wanting to photograph certain areas at sunrise or sunset dictates where I stay sometimes...hence a night in Page (Upper antelope in afternoon/lower in the morning/horseshoe bend sunset) and a night in Kanab for Coral Pink Sand Dunes at sunset. Definitely glad to have stayed in these places though.

After viewing your photos of Canyonlands, I sure wish we would have stopped there when we were out west last month. Oh, well, I guess that just means my husband and I have a good reason to go back out there again so we can see it!

Absolutely beautiful photographs! I've been to many of the same locations on a trip last summer, and I know what you mean about getting out to the False Kiva - I found the hike rather exhilarating, particularly towards the end. Canyonlands is one of my favorites.

I didn't know about the "House on Fire" in Mule Canyon - I'll have to get there next trip.
