I posted on here way back in last year announcing my plans to go on a roadtrip with my fiancee. We're three days in now! This trip takes us from Richmond, VA out to the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, from LA to Seattle, to Denver and back.

Terrific website. Very well done. Visually appealing, easy to navigate, and lots of cool info. I enjoyed the roadcast I listened to. I'll try to listen to more as you go along. Loved the video clip, too. Again well done! I wish I had the skills to do something like that to chronicle my own road trips.
I subscribed to your RSS feed so I could track your progress - fantastic work you're doing on the site - it will make a fantastic record of your trip for you to look back on in years to come.

Thanks very much for all the interest! We're doing great on the trip, just posted the time lapse from the arrival into Las Vegas. Should have some new things posted soon!
If you check out the Picture page or the Video page on http://roadtrip.keithndena.com you'll see that there are some more picture dates added, as well as a time lapse video for a good portion of California's highway 1 on the coast!

Well, the roadtrip is over, and the website is finally updated to show as much. Dena is still writing some of her entries, but all of mine are done, as well as all of the time lapse videos and the photos.
It was quite the journey! I'm very glad we did it, I got to see more of the US than most people ever will.
You did some clever work on that website. I had fun poking around and seeing what all you did. I love the Octopus Tree. And I feel kinda silly. I didn't even know Seattle had a Science Fiction Museum. Any Star Trek stuff there? If there is, my husband will want to drop everything and rush up there to check it out. LOL

There were a few places where I could find some wifi while on the road, but most of my access was at hotels. There are also many coffee shops and other stores that have access for varying fees. My laptop was running the whole time more for the time lapse video I was making, rather than being on the internet. I did all my updates from hotels, which I chose based on whether or not they had internet (when I could).Quote:

I sincerely doubt it. I don't see any possibility that anyone would have the sufficient bucks to provide broadband coverage to that large an area in the USA. I should qualify that, if you have a near unlimited budget as the consumer you can find useful bandwidth in most areas of the country, but there is no possible vision of the future that would enable low-cost internet solutions for the entire USA in the next 50 to 75 years.... I would stake my reputation on that!Quote:
