Hey I have a question for everyone...
I am going on a trip down I-95 and making quite a few stops along the way. Does anyone know where I can camp for very cheap. Also I saw this website that had a camping special where you pay $34 and you can camp at a list of campgrounds for $10. Is it worth it?
Otherwise just really cheap campsites?

I can't speak to much to the "deal" you've found without knowing a lot of the specifics. You have to consider what kind of places you can stay at using the card - if they are all aimed at RV's, and you like to tent camp, or they are places that only cost $12-15 without the card, its probably not worth it. If they are places you'd want to stay at and you'll use the card enough to actually make your $35 back, then go for it.
I only have a limited amout of experience camping near I-95, but there are a couple of state parks in Maryland, just north of Baltimore that are pretty nice and should only run you $20 or so a night. There are also a couple of large state forest areas in New Jersey that aren't too far from Interstate. The Wharton State Forest has some "Wilderness Camping" with little to no services that cost just a buck a night. But those are the only places I have personal experience with.
If you stick to BLM campgrounds, you might be able to find decent spots for less than 15$/night, but don't expect flush toilets and hot showers. Check out the State and National Forests Campgrounds as well (usually around 10-15$). Here's a website where you may find some interesting spots.

Hey I have a question about some great highways in the Eastern US.
I was wondering if anybody knew of some great highways that go from north to south in the eastern part of the US? Think US RT 1.
I know its a confusing and vague question but were looking for something that can bring us down south and is scenic, exciting, and adventurous!

US-1 clearly has the edge for historic sites along its route but is highly urban and/or developed with vacation and amusement attractions, and so is a very slow drive.
US-11 from Rousses Point, NY to New Orleans would probably make the top of my list for such highways, because it basically follows the Appalachian Mountains and avoids most, but not all, of the large cities of the eastern US while coming close enough to them and other attractions to make side trips short and rewarding.
US-15 from Rochester, NY to Waterboro, SC has its moments, particularly in central NY and Pennsylvania, and through Virginia where it is known as the Madison and Monroe Highway.
Others worth a look include US-17, US-19 and US-23, but for your stated purpose of getting from the northeast to the south by a scenic, exciting and adventurous route, I'd easily pick US-11 as my primary route.

- Route 9 between Portland, ME and Rye, NH;

- I-81 through PA;
- I-93 through the White Mountains, NH;
- US13 (Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel);
- Route 12 through the Outer Banks area, NC;
- US1, the Overseas Highway to Key West, FL;

...starting and ending points of your trip would be extremely useful bits of information, as would your preference for freeway vs parkway vs two-lane blacktop, as well as what you consider interesting and exciting!

Starting: Albany, New York
Ending: Miami Florida? Not sure, all we know is somewhere south.
Were looking for a scenic route with different "cool" roadside stops along the way. We want to stop at different "weird" roadside places.
Were not really sure about highway, just something that doesn't "wind" to much just so we can save some gas.
Otherwise were looking for adventure, something away from the normal route like I95.

Can anyone tell us anymore information on it?
Our trip is either going to be down Route 11 or I-95...
any suggestions?
Unfortunately, US-11 does not have an organization devoted to its promotion as do old US-66, US-30 and others. But just a quick survey of an atlas yielded these sights along it or within 25 miles or so:
Gettysburg
Harper's Ferry
Luray Caverns
Blue Ridge Parkway
Great Smoky Mountains
From the Great Smoky Mountains, you should probably consider leaving US-11 to head more toward the coast via US-23 and US-441 with stops at:
Okefenokee Swamp
Kennedy Space Center
The joy of travelling these highways is the unexpected, small, mom-and-pop attractions that are sprinkled along the way. Keep your eyes open and watch for the signs.

Your best bet would be to get an atlas of the entire US. This would not only let you follow the roads that you expect to travel, but also find the side roads that will be a big part of the adventure. You can find our reviews and recommendations here. These are generally available for less than $10 at book, map and discount (Costco, Sam's Club, and the like) stores. You can also, if you have a couple of months before you leave, request the official state highway maps from each of the states you'll be travelling through. You can usually find an order form on the state's official tourism or highway department web pages. I highly recommend these maps as the most detailed available, with lots of state parks, scenic roads and other attractions marked. Besides, they're free! (Usually) The downside is that they can take quite a while to be delivered.
