Still waiting.
The official site has still not been updated despite me giving them a little nudge. I asked if they could confirm if it was closed for the season as per the notification on the Yosemite nps page as the 'Opening and closing' page hadn't been updated and asked when it was last open. The reply was simply "The Tioga Road has been closed since November 18."
If this is confirmed it would mean that no one will take the winning prize this season but our 2 times winner, Jessica, [CaNative ] would be announced as the new dcttp. [(Darn Close -- Tioga Pass Prognosticator)

It's official !
The Yosemite nps webpage has been updated and the official closing date for winter 2013 is November 18th.
Our double winning prognosticator Jessica [CAnative] was close again but missed out on a hatrick of wins by a day. However she now joins the list of dcttp holders [(Darn Close -- Tioga Pass Prognosticator) with her predicted date of November 17th at 4pm.
Thanks to everyone who participated and posted information on this thread and Congratualtions to Jessica ! Keep an eye out for the start of the next competition, Spring opening 2014 !
2013 Winter closure was on November 18.

A lack of snow.
The view from the High Sierra webcam shows the lack of snow again this year [52% of average] and as Mark mentioned, I wonder if it is down to budget issues that they made no attempt to keep it open for longer.

Is this really December?
Yikes!
I've seen more snow than this in June most years... This is getting scary for water issues in the Sierras...

I would bet the road is still passable. (Except for the locked gates, of course).

LET IT SNOW....LET IT SNOW....LET IT SNOW
I want snow for my visit in January!!!!

Wow, that's crazy !
Another dry year on the cards by the look of things, even if there were to be a lot of snow in the coming weeks. It's blue sky's in Yosemite at the moment and the forecast looks to remain settled for the rest of the year !
Merry Christmas !
Dave.
