Jaunt/Challenge hybrid
I guess somewhere between a Jaunter and Challenger.
If I go to a chosen destination I like to take a new route. I want to see what is there, even if I'm not sure where the "there" is as I set out.
Along the way if I can find a national park, a place that sells stretched pennies, a historic monument, an unusual restaurant, or something else I want to see, that's better.
Some times fitting in the most national parks, California missions, ghost towns, or other sites is the whole reason for the trip (thus making it a pure Challenge).

I'm a The Challenge to the core. My road trip mission in life (for the moment) is to visit each one of the 50 states and get a picture of me with the "Welcome To. . ." sign.
I'm not doing bad, I'm up to 7 states now and I've got a 9 or 10 more that I'll be doing next month. Plus there's still the easy ones like Oregon and Cali that I need to pick up. Perhaps over the 4th of July. . . .
