Avalanche risk halts forward progress.
The crews have made it as far as just west of Tenaya Lake (working west to east) and although work is continuing behind that point, with crews tackling road repairs and widening, they are making no further forward progress due to the risk of avalanche in the Olmstead point area. There having to wait that out until they feel it is safe enough to continue.

My most recent prognostication was June 19th, but that is looking very unlikely...

Might be jumping the gun.
Although the crews are making good progress there is much work to be done which is hampered by 3 active avalanche zones.
Report from Yosemite NP by way of their Facebook page.
Quote:
park road crews plowed their way to Tioga Pass! While this is exciting, we still have a lot of work to do to make the road safe for travel. There are still three active avalanche zones. We still have to plow parking lots, side roads, and portions of the road that are only plowed one lane wide. There is also a lot of debris to remove from the roadway and from ditches and culverts.
