Nope, that one in the article is really unusual -- my family has been in the cattle business for over a century -- there's a good chance I can tell the difference in sexes of cattle.
Whether the cow in the pen is a steer or a heifer, it's still a very large example....

Did we give up on this one?

What is this, what movie was it in, and why?

The film must be "Sideways"
Sideways is responsible for the huge growth industry of Pinot Noir, but I still don't remember this location scene...

My favorite Sonoma Valley destination
For a few years in the mid-1970s, the Gundlach Bundschu winery in Sonoma Valley was closed to visitors. But the caretaker always welcomed picnicers to enjoy the pond on the grounds. For many, many wine hunting sorties, when I was supposed to be studying at CAL-Berkeley, I would schedule the trip so that we ended up there with a bottle or two of some select vintage and some cheese, etc. I know that the winery is now back in the tour giving business -- but that photo of the pond brought back some memories for me.

Megan: It could be the Getty
Megan dropped by my desk a few moments ago and offered "The Getty" museum in Los Angeles...

It could very well indeed be the Getty...
High overlooking west LA.
Here's a view from the deck on a typical smoggy February late afternoon in the City of Angels:

Apparently it was a bit more urgent than that
I haven't spoken to my colleagues in the LAFD who managed it -- but apparently the fire made a concerted run in late afternoon and there was a very real concern that the grounds would be over-run, so somehow they managed to evacuate everyone in "record time." But I agree, that would've presented some monumental logistical challenges....
