Thanks for publishing your trip itinerary. I am impressed. I've always thought that something like this would be a once in a life time trip, but it sounds like you've done it (or will do it) multiple times. By the way, what kind of vehicle were you driving?? How did it fare on your trip?

On both trips we used a 1995 Chevy van with the Explorer conversion package. It performed very well on both trips. Only minor problems on the first trip ( Flat tire, Dead battery, and a slight adjustment to the brakes after crossing the Rockies in Denver. The 8 day trip was flawless!
Having a bed in the back was really the key to the 8 day trip. It allowed my son and I to swap driving, not lose any time and still get sufficent sleep along the way.
