Um..... no, I must have missed that. Jack actually makes the point that the Four Corners is actually 4 different Tri-State points -- but I am afraid that I didn't follow his logic on that one.

I think the ones in water could be photographed -- but we'd have to take the photographers' word that she/he was in the correct spot!

I figured that once a corner was taken up, as in four corners, it should not qualify for other combinations. Could not see his logic either.

I think you missed the irony in the 5 corner link. One day when you are looking for something to do (LOL) go back and read the thread. I particularly like the post which named the five 'states'.

That would not be the Beartooth, would it.... or is that too obvious. Something a little more hidden? I think the Beartooth has another name, but can't check. The book I bought about the road is at home.

I immediately thought "Beartooth", "US-212", and "Yellowstone" when I saw the picture. But like you, I thought, "nah, isn't that too obvious????!!!!"

It is near a national park -- but not in Montana or Wyoming...

Look at the plants -- that is a big clue

East or West of the Rockies? Strikes me there is too much vegetation for the Trail Ridge Road.

I have read about and seen pictures of switch backs like that, which can be seen from the LA to SF train. I don't know where they are, other than that they are in CA. No idea if that is below the 40th parallel.... I don't know where that goes.

I am not aware of any other switch backs in the west, though no doubt there could be many.

I kept thinking of the Old Priests Grade on CA120 from an unusual angle, but it just didn't fit. So as a stab in the dark I'm heading further south to Sherman pass / Kennedy Meadows road. {Nine mile canyon? ]

Dave, you were going to be my next clue.... You've been on this road and written about it.... (At least, I think that is the case!)
