Chasing Cars: Homestead (and Florida)

Indeed so - I always like to see a game when I'm over. I started buying a souvenier baseball for each venue that I spectated at and, sad as I am, I now feel the need to buy one for each venue that I visit -- game or not! I trust that there is a gift shop at Dolphin Stadium? It is my stated aim that I will visit ALL of the MLB ballparks. Same as I intend to visit all of the National Parks in the US. Given there's two MLB ballparks on my route, and three national parks, this is gonna be a good contribution!!

Got my flight tickets now and I'm just going through and printing off all the car rental, hotel reservations, etc. I have just realised that I didn't get to book the Kennedy Space Center tour though and would welcome the advice of anyone who's been there.

I'm looking on their site now and I'm not 100% sure how the 'package' works and what I need to buy. There seems to be two tour options available: 'NASA Up Close Tour' and 'Cape Canaveral: Then & Now Tour' in addition to the (presumably standard) 'Kennedy Space Center Tour'

So, if I was going to make a one-time only visit and wasn't too worried that it might cost another couple of quid, what do I need to buy? Space is limited so I need to book asap so any light you can shed would be very much appreciated!! If it's a good idea to do it all, the 'Cape Canaveral: Then & Now Tour' has a slot at 1250 whilst the 'NASA Up Close Tour' has slots at 0940, 1000, 1020, 1240, 1250, 1300, 1310, 1330 & 1350. How long do these tours take? HELP!

I've been there twice and never booked ahead, so I'm thinking I was not on the all-inclusive tour, but probably one of the cheaper ones. I'm remembering it as being a good 4 hours, but it's been since college since I've gone. I do remember that it was a lot of fun, we saw stuff from the International Space Station and got to ride around to all the different buildings on a bus.


Hopefully someone will come along that has done the tour this century. :)

Okay, I've been advised that the 'NASA Up Close' tour is the one I want so I have booked a place on that at 1350 :) I think I'm all set now - thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread, some fantastic advice has been offered. I will try and update you from the road, as usual.

Thanks. All sorted now and ready for the off. Have just cracked open a beer and thought I'd cheer myself up by looking at the weather forecast. Oh dear god... I do not like the look of Sunday... RAIN?!! :o Please no. I soooo hope we don't get rained off again. Urgh

Miami Forecast. It's just a 20% chance at this point of the game according to them.
