And an even later second guess (if seconds are allowed) -- May 27th at 10 am.

Almost 3 weeks into the plowing effort and the crews have opened up a single lane all the way to Tenaya lake. This under half way across the pass and poor weather has set in and is expected to deliver up to 6 inches of fresh snow in Tuolumne meadows area.

Take a look at today's Web Cam of Yosemite Falls -- that's a lot of water and snow-melt!

So, the 12th of May isn't going to work...

Newest dart going in --> 3:00 pm, Friday, May 27th (yes, I know CaNATIVE has this date, I am going for the closest hour...)

The crews seem to be plowing on ! The Mono county and National park crews have now met to the east of Tenaya Lake. There is still lots of work to do which includes removing rock fall debris and fallen trees from the roadway and getting the full width plowed. Still no hints as to when the work may be completed.

My bet is May 29th 2016 at 8:59am. It better be open as i already got reservation for june lake camping for that date.

Really hope it will be open for you. If we could have a say in it, we would all be there to open it ourselves.

Ebbetts Pass opened today according to Caltrans. Sonora is still closed.

The crews continue to work on clearing to get the road safe for opening to traffic, although it is reported the road opened to cyclists at the weekend. [14th and 15th]. The road is fully open from US395 to the Lower gate entrance on CA120. There is lots of snow reported at high elevations and 6 feet deep along the side of the road in places. Tioga Lake is still frozen over, but I would say it's heading for a May opening. Watch this space !

Expected to open at noon tomorrow, May 18th..

I have just seen the updated page and it is scheduled to open at Noon. Having checked for reports yesterday I had a suspicion it may open within a week but I wasn't expecting that !

You were close again CAnative with your guess of May 19th @ 10am, but lets wait and see.

The Yosemite NP Plowing update page now states that the road opened at Noon today. [Weds May 18] We will [as always] have to wait until it is listed on the Official Opening and closing page before posting a final verdict, but it looks as though CAnative [Jessica] will be the new dcTPP contestant (Darn Close -- Tioga Pass Prognosticator). This will be the second time she has achieved this, first time in 2013, as well as being a back to back Chief Prognosticator winner in 2011 !

Where's that snow gone ! It looks a beautiful day to be travelling in Yosemite.

Road closing tonight (as well as Glacier Point Road) so there will be 2nd and 3rd openings respectively.

Although still waiting for the Official page to be updated to confirm, [Although other sources have] the fact the road is being closed temporarily due to bad weather will have no effect on the actual day it opened for the season.

The Yosemite webpage has now been updated and confirmed that the official opening date for Spring 2016 was indeed May 18th at Noon.

There was no correct prediction this contest but Jessica [CAnative] was the nearest with her prediction for May 19th @ 10am and becomes this seasons holder of the DCTPP title. [Darn close Tioga Pass Prognosticator] Congratulations Jessica !

All the man park roads are currently open, apart from the Mariposa Grove road due to ongoing restoration project that is.
