Sorry Mark, not there, much further south. If you're going west from there, you can soak in these:

but if you're going east, you can have one of these:

Although I heard they might be closing real soon (if not already).
The log cabin looks like it could be either in Utah or in the Vermillion Cliffs area...??
Not Saguaro................

@Gen, Those two clues would place the site somewhere between Hadley's Date Palms and Desert Hot Springs along I-10. Is this the road to the Whitewater Trout Farm?
The other place might be the road to the old Plank Road viewpoint off of I-8 near Yuma?
Mark
....and the cabin is in Utah -- but it is a relatively "famous" cabin....
The cabin is Bluff Fort in Bluff, Utah....
Mark
Switching gears for you urbanites...
(Boston Two Birds photo from the collection of Gerald Thurman)
Yes, the Imperial Sand Dunes!
Hey, why did you give it away? I was going to ask for more hints!:)Quote:

From memory only, but I am thinking it could be Epcot Center. (And I won't jump the gun on answers any more....)
OK, it's not Epcot -- hmmmm, have to start looking....

Biosphere in Montreal
Here's another:

The road to the Imperial sand Dunes. This was fun. Hwy. 78.

I know you were in the first of the cars allowed over the "Going to the Sun Highway" in Glacier National Park last year and I although I can't identify this section of highway --- I bet it was somewhere on this route?
Mark
Gen's geodesic dome is the US Pavilion from Expo '67, Montréal.
AZBuck
Wow Mark; you are good!
Anyone wanna take a guess at this?

Craig is right, it is the Biosphere now, but it used to be the USA Pavilion at Expo 67 World's Fair as Buck stated. Perfectly preserved.
Is the bridge photo the causeway over Lake Ponchatrain?
You guys are way too good at this. The only ones I've known so far were the Organ Pipe photo and the Sequoia seed.
In answer to your question: This is:Quote:
Try again ;) Not as far south as the Keys... but then what is?
The bridge over Pontchartrain Lake then?
edit : crap, Michael beat me to it!:)
Hawaii someplace? Maybe the road to Ka Lae?
I'm off to bed now... would love to stay and play tho!
Well both Michael and Gen already figured out that there were only three possibilities for the bridge which left sight of land. This one

is, I believe, the Conquistador statue in Balboa Park, San Diego.
You are right! One of the loveliest municipal park I've seen.
Here's another one:

The Québec City Waterfront, and a lovely view to boot.
AZBuck
Right on. I took this last summer after a very interesting night of partying and exploring. It was about 4 a.m., that's why the waterfront isn't crowded (a rare sight out here!).
This one might be a little harder:

Baja Calornia Sur -- near the Sea of Cortez? I noticed that all of the air conditioning units are swamp coolers but I don't know if that mountain with the antennas is in the correct spot for this.
Mark
Mark : just swim across the Sea of Cortez and head north!
With that clue, I would venture.... maybe Guaymas? Beyond that, I won't get much closer -- the farthest south I've ever been is San Felipe in Baja California....
Mark
Nope, its not Kentucky. This is a really tough one, so here's another picture that might help:
Remember, I told Craig its south of the Keys, but I do hope to drive back there in my own car someday. On my way, I'd probably stop by this place again:

It looks like the Riviera Maya (architecture + tourists + tope sign), but the sign that says "insurance" makes me doubt. However, if it's south of the Keys it can only be in Hawaii if it's within the US and since you mentioned it is not in Hawaii, it has to be in Mexico!
@Mark & Michael: Look south of Rocky Point and north of Guaymas.
You are half right. The second picture is Tulum, the Mayan City on the coast south of Cancun and Playa del Carmen.Quote:

However, that's still a couple hundred miles from the first pictures. (although, you are on the right track with the insurance clue.)
