Driving in Brazil

I want to rent a car in Rio de Janeiro and drive to Florinopolis. I will be there Nov. 20-Dec.3.

my experience in Brasilia and other parts of Latin America are that the practice of running red lights is mildly tolerated due to the population being concerned about carjackings..

I also found the front window tinted peculiar. first time I saw it was in Punta Del Este with all the Brasilian cars coming down to their summer homes.
