I would say Utah, with a diversion on to US 50 once inside Colorado if you are going to any points South of Denver, or just staying on I-70 into Denver. I have never been through Utah or Colorado, so I don't know about any of the sights or things to do along any of these routes, I just go by my maps.
thanks for all the help. . .oh one more question do you think you could check your maps and let me know if theres any straight route from zion/bryce canyon to four corners? that would be great
You'll find the most direct route is US89 to Page, AZ, SR98 to US160, then US160 to Four Corners. It's 250 miles from Kanab, plus whatever miles you add from where you start (Zion or Bryce).
alright sounds good...another route question though what would be a good way to get north to wyoming from the leadville area in colorado? (preferably something that would take us up through the mountains maybe to rocky mountain np but not through denver)
With respect to Bristlecone... Why don't you think about US-395 thru the Oregon Outback (stopping at Summer Lake Hot Springs)

just wanted to repost this topic; any further suggestions?
