Sounds a lot like my first (non supervised) road trip when I was around that age. I don't have much to add about the logistics of the trip, but if anything, I would give yourself even more time, and less places to go. Even if you had everything planned right, and scheduled all the stops down to the last minute, one thing you can't count on is how four people cooped up in a car are going to act. Don't forget you're going to be seeing each other 24 hours a day for 13 days. I'd try not to spend more than 4-8 hours a day in the car (depending on how well you're getting along). But 13 days together is a long time, trust me, the less you're cooped up together the more likely you'll be friends afterwards

Hmmm...
Well, ya'll have been ever so helpful. We're definitely gonna take our own portable DVD players and we're gonna take time driving as well. Inside of the car, we're gonna try to do our own thing for a few hours, then talk and enjoy the sites, then back and fourth. I'm sure I would go nuts if we were just sitting in there talking for a 8 hour drive. We drove 9 hours to Dallas once and while it was great and not so bad, I bet that would get annoying after like 13 days.
Also, I know gas prices are ranging from the 1.80's here in TX to the 2.40's in Cali. Is there any way to save money besides the obvious? Any stations offer special discounts for usign their gas or something?
