24 Day RV Trip with Family Starting in Vegas

I think I was unclear about Glen Canyon. It seems that going from Grand Canyon Village, we will naturally pass through Page, AZ and the lower end of Glen Canyon. My plan was to stay in that region (Waheap), float the Colorado river from Lees Ferry before we head over to Bryce Canyon. The pictures of the Colorado online look beautiful there. So, that means we are not really planning to explore Glen Canyon. More like Lake Powell and the Colorado River.
Again, the concern is that we might be trying to take in more than we can enjoy in the limited time.
Thanks for your recommendation on camping in Moab. I just discovered that devil's garden is closed next summer. Ever stayed at dead horse point as an alternative?

What do you think about the jeep idea for Arches/Canyonlands. I won't be able to rent a car more than once or twice on the entire trip. That said, what areas would we most benefit from parking the RV and renting a car? (Glacier, Teton, YS, Moab, Zion, Bryce, Grand)

Oh OK, yep that's fine from Waheap/Page. I haven't stayed at Dead horse point SP, but it would be a good location from which to explore the area. Everyone has different travel styles but what you propose is doable but will keep you active.

You won't have to get a jeep for Arches and Canyonlands to explore, but it's a fun area if you want to explore away from the beaten path. We usually rent a 30ft RV and have never hired another vehicle but I would like to rent a Jeep in the Moab area one day, the Shaffer trail is rather challenging/exciting. In Glacier you won't be able to drive the Going to the Sun road unless you rent a car, but you can still enjoy it via the Red bus tours and many of the other parks have free shuttle buses to ferry you around. That's another advantage of camping in some of the parks, you can leave the RV where it is and hop on and off the buses. You will find lots of info on the nps.gov site.

Not at all, ask as much as you wish as often as you need, that's what we are here for. Please keep all questions in this one thread as members seeing your questions for the first time get to see the big picture and not just bits and pieces spread over several threads.

OK...new questions. I'll be in a 35ft. Class A. On the way from Dinosaur National Monument (Vernal) to the Grand Tetons, we're planning to stop and camp for a night. Flaming Gorge seems to be the route. Should we take US191 or WY530? Seems like perhaps 530 is more scenic. However, if we do that route, I'm not sure where to stop and camp for that night. Any suggestions?

We opted for 530 which was a nice drive but also means I can't comment on 191. As I recall, RV sites are limited, there are a couple of KOA campgrounds, one in Manila and one in Rock Springs which don't appeal to me but would do for an overnight. In between there is Buckboard Marina on the shores of Flaming Gorge and at the southern end is Red canyon, it depends on how your day pans out and your plans really.
