No snow yet, but it is on the way

The pass is closed with a possible 12 inches of snowfall above 8000ft in the forecast.

Half Dome looks like the top half a Rook the way the cloud has shaped it in the above photo, or is that just me !?

Anyone travelling into Yosemite valley will need to check the latest info as a rock fall has closed the entrance on El Portal Road to Big Oak Flat Rd. You can still access the Valley via 120 from the west or 41 from the south.

Yosemite's Facebook page just posted that 140 will be reopened at 7pm tonight.

The Pass remains closed for now with a reported 10-18 inches of snow at the east entry gate and 5 inches along Dana Meadows with ice creating a problem. A clear but cold week ahead is forecast so hopefully the day time sun will do enough to cause a thaw of the ice and get the road open, if not it could be a real early closure this year. [October 28th I think it closed]

I'll try Nov 22nd at 3 pm.

My son got to Sonora Pass area for hiking today (cold and snow) so maybe there will be some thawing. Very happy about the rain and snow this fall in No CA.

Apparently the road opened today.

Yes confirmed open on the official site and the Yosemite Facebook page with a decent weather forecast for the week ahead.
