You're right and I have done quite a bit of internet research but as we all know first hand experience passed on can be a great asset at times.

Thanks Lifey, I will look into those places. The Park ranger would definitely be a good place to start for advice. I have looked on their website and downloaded a couple of maps but up to date advice will be sought.

Yes donna, I have read a few posts talking about just those things, we are pretty experienced walkers but since we are now getting on in years will probably not attempt to go too far. It would appear that a person can get so enraptured with the views that they end up lower in the canyon than originally intended...... something we'll have to watch out for!
Crumbs walking in flip flops would have been awful, poor bloke!
