Alternative option.
In my opinion, entering the GC along the Desert view drive is more rewarding in some way, good plan. You could check out the Cameron Trading post for lodgings, as they are the closest to the east entrance. The trading post is a pretty cool destination in itself and the food there is good too !

Only one week to go!
Not long before takeoff, yay! Does any of you know a good place to stay in LA? It's huge! We have been thinking near Santa Monica/Venice or hollywood? But are open for suggestions. I would love to get some rec. on cheap motels/hotels in the area to. And also we are going to have a two day trip (2 nights) along HW1, witch towns are the best one to stop in. I've been thinking at least Monterey but the day before? Any suggestions? Have a great day =)

You plan on taking 2 days to get from LA to Monterey? Do you plan on booking a Hearst Castle tour for day 2? If so, this will determine how far you have to get the day before. There are quite a few towns all the way up CA-1 with lodging.

No we have two nights in total to get from LA to SF =)

Do you guys think i need to book any hotel in LA in advance? We are not sure about our arrivaldate, so I would like not to. Have a great day!

Do it along the way.
Why not book a hotel in LA once you become aware of when you will get there?

I'm sure that you'd be able to find a hotel in LA without reservations, simply because of the sheer size of the area and number of hotel options. Having said that, if you've got a specific part of LA (keeping in mind it can take 2 hours to get from one end of "LA" to the other), or a specific class of hotels or list of amenities you are looking for, then pre-booking could have advantages, even if you are making your reservation the same day as your arrival.

You can certainly get from LA to SF in 2 days along the PCH, but you won't have a lot of time for diversions along the way. I have done exactly that, and I spent the night in San Simeon. I booked an afternoon Hearst Castle tour, and drove pretty much straight through from LA. The next day I stopped in Carmel for lunch and took the 17 Mile Drive.
