Again, I would strongly discourage you from trying to do your absolute maximum on day one, as it will seriously impact you and your ability to drive on day two. Having drivers switching off may help a little, but at the end of the day, you'll be sitting in the car for hours at a time, and that is draining as a passenger or a driver.Quote:

Think of it as the difference between running a sprint an a marathon. In a sprint, your goal is to run as hard as you can, as fast as you can. If you try that same approach in a marathon, you'll have a great time to start, but you'll quickly be exhausted and you'll have a lousy final time, if you finish at all. Keeping a steady, consistent pace is a much better way to go about it - and the same is true when you are talking about driving distances on a 1500 mile trip.
