Hehe, in my defense, I did not have the hat in my possession at the time that I took the picture this summer. I've got it now! :) Feel free to photoshop one in. :)

Are you sure it wasn't in the box? There were three other RTA goodies in the package. Better write me offline to confirm!

Tioga was CLOSED on 10/4, the day I was in Yosemite and wanted to go over it! I had to double back and take 88/Carson - 108/Sonoma was closed too! I would have chanced 4/Ebbetts, but the Caltrans website was indicating a LOT of one lane traffic with delays due to construction.
Well it's been kinda quiet since the closure glc mentioned above, but there is a chance of 12" to 24" of new snow laying on the high ground over 6000ft in the next 24 hours. There is also a hazardous weather warning issued for this period. If you are planning on travelling over the Tioga pass make sure you get the latest updates before setting out.
I just checked the Caltrans site - if you want to go across the Sierras tonight, either put your chains on or go to Bakersfield. Tioga, Sonora, Ebbetts, and Monitor passes are closed, and Carson/88, US-50, and I-80 all have chain restrictions in place.
Not a lot of snowfall forecast after this storm, but if enough settles, along with night time lows of 14 to 20F and daytime highs 31 to 40F expected, could this be it ?
Chain restrictions are now off for US-50 and I-80. CA-88 still has them on, and the rest of the passes are still closed.
I believe that it's now closed for the winter. We just have to wait to see what the official closing date and time was.

With reasonable weather reported for the day's ahead, I doubt they will 'call it' just yet, in the past we have waited over 4 weeks for confirmation. Unlike the Spring opening, when the plowing is completed and the road is clear, you get a clear cut official "open" date [whether it closed again or not]. In the Fall they wait and wait to see if there is any chance at all, that what snow has laid will clear and the road can be re-opened for a time. When this option is no longer viable they will back date to the day the road originally closed.
I can't at this time find any 'whispers' suggesting it is closed for the season, that's not to say it isn't.
