I don't remember this view -- but there are pueblos that sorta of look like this one near Taos, NM
I haven't visited this monument before and I don't really recognize the photo -- but this might be it.

Acoma Pueblo is private and is still inhabited, this site is no longer occupied.
Salinas Pueblo Missions is a good guess, but that's not where the photo was taken.
Goodness gracious, there's quite a number of pueblos in the greater New Mexico area -- how about another geo-directional clue?

A Civil War battle was fought not far from this site.
I had considered Jemez earlier on but couldn't find anything to connect it with but having done a little more digging along those lines I have come up with;
Pecos National Historical Park ?
