Going from Miami to New York [via New Orleans?] in 14 days (August)

I would opt for the coastal route, but others (and you) might prefer the inland itinerary. There is no right/wrong, good/bad route, just the one that appeals to you most.

Coastal route you say.
No, I realize that both routes will be interesting enough, but I'm just trying to gather as mutch meat on my bones as possible.

We will probably end up deciding our route on-the-go.
