If you're going to the North Rim, it makes no sense to backtrack around to see Hoover Dam. To be honest, if you do the North Rim and then see Zion on the way to Vegas....and, if you have time, you might also swing by Bryce Canyon...the scenery is so far superior to Hoover Dam that, imho, it's a good swap. But if you really want to see Hoover Dam, it's a quick drive from Las Vegas. Only about 35 miles. So you could easily zip over there to see it after you get into Vegas from Zion. Anyway, that's how I'd do it.Quote:
