Las Vegas - July 2008

Hi, Fun Seekers. Just a couple of things for you to remember..... Vegas in July can be 115-122 degrees F....Death Valley can be upwards of 140 degrees F. PLEEEEZZZEE plan on drinking so much water that you could float home. You can get dehydrated in minutes.

July is also Monsoon Season in Vegas. "Monsoon" as in what the jungles have for rain. Streets flood, car float down the streets......within minutes of the rain starting.

We have read about the high temps and potential storms many times, but it's a message I don't think you can be given enough! I'm quite a paranoid person anyway so we're planning to have lots of water with us at all times and a whole host of other items just in case the worst happens.

Although she's a sensible person, I believe my wife's main fear is coming across a tarantula somewhere on our tavels. I'm thinking about packing a fake one to scare the bejesus out of her at some point on the trip, but I'm worried she'll never recover mentally and I'll have to put her in a home.
