If you are headed west, don't miss the two stops above. My husband and I were headed to Denver and accidentally ran across Palo Duro Canyon, we are going to spend an hour or so and ended up having to make ourselves leave. You can hike, camp, and enjoy God's wonders in this area. Also, Garden of the Gods is spectacular. If you like nature and climbing you will love this area. Have a great trip and enjoy all the travel you can while you are young.
You will never regret it.
