I've been to LL twice in the last two years and have yet to see the colour of the water! In May 08 it was iced over and when I returned in Feb 09 it was frozen solid (apart from the top end of the lake where I stuck my foot through into the cold water below when hiking across it!) and covered in a ton of snow. Clue #5: Here is a BIG clue. It is located in a National Recreation Area (USDA property, not NPS).
