Fastest routes, completely avoiding NYC:
From Lancaster, take PA-72 north to I-81 to Scranton, then take I-84 to I-691 to I-91 to Rocky Hill. Should take about 6 hours and it's quite scenic.
Adirondack Park is huge, so I'll get you to Saratoga Springs. Take I-91 north to Springfield, then I-90 to Albany, then I-87 north. Rocky Hill to Saratoga Springs via those routes is about 2.5 hours.
From Watertown to Niagara Falls, stay on the US side - I-81 to I-90, about 4 hours. Going via Canada adds about an hour and a half and puts you right through the middle of Toronto.

We made it. We ar here.
Well we have made it to the US and have been here just over two weeks. Having a fantastic time and a quarter way through our trip. I will have to start a new field trip report soon. We are not spending a lot of time in motels or on the net and if we do we are mostly out looking around.
We travelled the interstates as well as smaller highways and scenic routes and enjoying everything we see and travel on. Our planning seems to be going to schedule and still on track. Our spending got a bit excessive so might have to cut back on a few of the paid attractions to get back on budget.
So far it has been.
Los Angeles - Kingman - Route 66
Two nights in Vegas
Kingman to Albuquerque - Route 66 - Crater at Flagstaff.
Albuquerque to El Paso - White Sands and Franklin Mountain
El Paso to San Antonio - The Alamo
San Antonio - Houston - Nasa
Houston - Galveston - New Orleans. Quiet a bit of spending with my wifes birthday and a few tours.
New Orleans to Natchez. Natchez Trace to Tupelo and visit Elvis birth place.
Onto Memphis and Graceland and downtown Memphis.
Memphis to Chattanooga. Big Aquarium.
Now at Lynchburg and about to go to Visit it Jack Daniels Distillery.
So we have been on a bit of a mission. We have slowed down since leaving New Orleans and hopefully a steadier drive from now on through Kentucky and then onto the Blue Ridge parkway.
The states so far in the last two weeks.
California
Arizona
Nevada
New Mexico
Texas
Louisianna
Mississippi
Arkansas
Alabama
Georgia
Tennessee

Greetings everyone. New to the forum but not new to travel. Much of our roadtrips were in a RV, but since late 2012 our mode of transportation has changed to a comfortable automobile.
In 2013 our month travel was from central Florida to Provo, Ut. and beyond to Yellowstone National Park. We continue to pick off our bucket list destinations.
