They are 2 very good and very interesting articles !
I hope in the first article where they predict it will be "at least a week" before opening they mean "it will be a week", Um, that would make it the 16th !
No updates from the official site, but temps are above the 60F mark above 9000ft and above the 70's on the valley floor which could speed things up. Lovely time to visit but if you are going this week [end] there is Flood watch warning in place due to the possibility of a quick snow melt.
Ebbetts and Sonora are both open.
They must have JUST opened Ebbetts pass because I checked that within the last couple of days.
Yep, they opened it Tuesday.
Sonora Pass is gorgeous when it opens for the first time in the spring (er... or summer as it is now). And that mountain lake near the top of Ebbets pass looks like something in a fantasy island scenario. If it weren't for the gargantuan mosquitoes -- that little cabin on that little island would be my top choice for a summer getaway!
Another article yesterday on Sierra snow with information from Yosemite.

And look at photo #6 on this slide show!
Well at least my date pick hasn't passed yet! LOL
Yes they are on flood alert at the moment with the snow pack up to 300% above average for June and temps set to hit the 80's in the valley and 70's 'up top'. The pass has been opened to bicycles from the west and east but not all the way across. An avalanche zone just to the east of Olmsted point seems to be of concern.
No updates since the 10th, but hurry up boy's there's less than 3 working days left before I would like it open !!
