Yes, they made violins for a while. F.O. made them as a hobby, then they actually opened a violin factory for awhile.
NO. Not the museum. The painting was made based on a photo that hangs in the museum, of him working on a violin in his workshop.

Just reminiscing a bit. The Stanley Hotel brings back memories.
Years ago visited the hotel and left with the impression that the film The Shining, staring Jack Nicholson, was filmed there.
Later found out there was a connection with the film but it was not filmed there – the author Stephen King wrote part of the story there and I understand the mini-series of The Shining was filmed there.
My son and I observed a 2 tractor-trailer rollover/yard sale on the northbound side just a couple or three miles north of the Pass itself as we drove south on 31 October 2007. Coming down the Baker side, we "discovered" his truck has some form of governor. I plead the 5th where identification of the speed at which the governor kicks in at is concerned. Long, straight downhill highways can be very dangerous when combined with road-wear travelers whose destination is approaching. I remain chagrined about that even now, 3 years hence.
