Although not as gorgeous as the bridges that Mass Tim posted in Ohio, this one won an award a few years back for the "most beautiful steel bridge." Do you know the location? The name of the bridge and the year of the award?

Neither of the two major bridges on CA1 (Bixby and Big Creek), as they're both concrete.
Vegetation looks classic chaparral, but a little on the dry side. Looks like manzanita in the foreground.
Feels like southern California, and possibly a bit inland but within 100 miles of the coast.

You're going to love this...
As the crow flies it is both 200 and 400 miles from the coast.... so, it's not in Southern California. It is chaparral but that's not manazanita and you can still find postcards of the bridge dating from the mid-1940's in various collections....
Well, it feels like cheating as I've never heard of it but a search of "most beautiful steel bridge" eventually delivered me to a site focusing on Rocky Mountain Roads, where one photo suggests that this is the Pinto Creek bridge which carries US 60 over, yes, the Pinto Wash in Arizona. It was named the most beautiful steel bridge by the American Institute of Steel Construction 1949.

Hmmm, I would've guessed somewhere in Badlands NP in South Dakota, except I don't think mountain sheep are found that low in elevation. So, I am going to go with the salt lick found at the southern end of Glacier National Park in Montana...Quote:

Howza about the New Jersey State Capitol Building in Trenton, New Jersey?
Actually, I'm not positive about this -- one of the domes -- this one looks correct, but the rest of the facade is missing... But the architecture is similar, so am I getting warmer?
Nope... this isn't quite the right match. but the Federalism style is familiar -- where have i seen it???
Maybe on a building in Manhattan -- NYC? Am I any warmer yet?
