I am a crazy fan of Rock, I want to plan a trip on the topic of it. I am in NYC. Anybody could give me some help, which city I should go to , any book ? ...

Actually I am inspired by a movie "ElizabethTown" ...

I'd have to say the obvious answer to your problem would be to head to Cleveland and check out the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Or you could simply go to www.pollstar.com, find some bands that you like who are on tour, and then drive to go see them.

In addition to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, you could explore the following museums :

You should make a trip to Clear Lake, Iowa, to visit the Surf Ballroom, the last place Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and the Big Bopper played before their tragic crash on February 3,1959. The site of the crash, a short distance from the Clear Lake airport, now has a monument. RoadDog

Seattle has a number of attractions featuring Jimi Hendrix...

Seattle also has a very cool museum, the Experience Music Project. It's one of the most bizarre buildings I've ever seen. People either love it or hate it. Lots of fun stuff inside, too.

And you can always come visit me and see where Kurt Cobain lived before he left his hometown for fame and fortune!
