I'm a virgin at attempting to communicate thru an online forum with people of a similar interest. Motorcyclists have a unique perspective and special interests in road tripping; we're different in many ways from people who go from place to place in a protective cage. Certainly, we all use the same roads, eat in restaurants, sleep in motels, etc., but still, is there anyway to segregate motorcyclist from the four (or more) wheeled variety of travelers in this forum?
What we normally do is to create a new topic, (in this case -- it could be one about motorcycling) when there is sufficient interest from the membership. Several of the active roadtrippers who participate on this Forum are active motorcyclists. Arizona Bob who has filed a number of field reports does many of the trips aboard one of his motorcycles. If we see sufficient interest in other discussions about this form of travel, we will add a new topic.Quote:

I really don't see that much difference between two wheel road-trippers and 4+ road-trippers. There is the obvious that they are different modes of transport, but what remains the same is the love for the road, the escape, and escapes, that roadway travel affords all of us.
Most of the people on this forum take the advice and adapt it for their personal situation, or they request specific advice (i.e. best places to camp with an RV, best off road destinations, best places accessable by 'family sedan' type cars).
To segregate the two would, in my opinion, to show a bias towards one mode of transport. As far as I can tell, all of the topics on RTA are adaptable to all types of travel, whether it be screaming down the highway on two wheels, or hauling all your belongings in a box truck. That, in my opinion, is what makes RTA great. It is so versitile, useable by anyone traveling by road.
Again, this is just my observations. Take them for what they are worth.
