Monastery?
One of my fellow roadtrippers has heard that you can stay at a monastery or convent on the east coast for free and I was wondering if anyone had any info on this.
A group of us girls are road trippin' it this spring break Missouri-Knoxville-Richmond-Pittsburgh-Cinnicinati and back and any hints or interesting places would be great, we are going Mid-March
Would it be too cold in Mid-March to camp out in a tent at campsites along the way?
ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT! THANKS!

I suppose...
...if the "offering of your choosing" was nothing, then you could stay for free. But as
the article notes, these accommodations are not for everyone.

Sorry, didn't mean "free" like that, I know they take donations and we were planning on doing that (I just realized what a freeloader I sounded like on my post above)

Another
Here's another, a convent, found by one of our members. And average March night time temperatures are still below freezing in Pittsburgh (for example), so I wouldn't count on doing too much camping.
