FLA to NV in 24 Days??

Is this too much? My boyfriend has planned out this extensive trip stopping in some of the most amazing spots in the country (and a couple in Canada). The question is, how the hell is it possible to spend quality time in all of these places given a time frame of 24 days? He seems confident that it's totally doable. Leaving from Tampa, FL we'll hit Smoky Mts, TN; Washington, DC; New York, NY; Montreal, Quebec, Niagara Falls, Ontario; Chicago, IL; Deadwood, SD; West Yellowstone, MT; Salt Lake City, UT; Sedona, AZ; Las Vegas. Is it possible to spend quality time in each place, get enough sleep, and make it back to Las Vegas, Nevada in 24 days? I need to be reassured by an objective party. Anyone??

That route involves about 7-8 days of 10 hours/day of driving. If you drive less and explore more, it will certainly eat into those 24 days. I suggest you provide a bit more detail about your trip and the semi-pro roadtrippers who live on this board can weigh in with their recommendations.

I believe it is doable but if you ask me if you will be able to spend quality time in each location, I can't answer that question for you, since we all have a different perception of quality time! But if you want to make it a laid-back kind of trip, I'd say save half of it for later, for another road trip, especially if you don't have much long driving experience (~6 hours per day). If you drive on your sleeping hours just to get from one point to another you won't enjoy the trip. Take it easy and remember that even if you need to make some planning, you don't need to plan every single thing. Personally, I think the greatest road trip is all about freeing yourself from the obligations you have at home and to discover places and meet new people. Usually, the most pleasant experiences on the road are unexpected.
