From San Francisco to Vegas

My family and I are planning to go fran San Francisco to Las Vegas, leaving on July 15 and arriving on July 18. Our idea was to go first to the Wine region, spending one and half day and the remaining days going through Yosemite and Sequoia parks.

We do not live in the US so we would be very grateful for your insights and suggestions regarding which is the best route to take and where we should stop to spend the night (and if we planned a good itinerary or not!). Thank you for your help.
