I-95 from Palm Beach, FL to Alexandria, VA

Hi everyone! This is a great site!

My family and I are traveling via I-95 from Palm Beach, FL to Alexandria, VA. We hope to take 2.5 days to get up there and then 3 days to get back - trying to see the best of the best sight-seeing places along the way - we can extend the trip on the way back a little if we need to (if there's a must-see, can't miss attraction). We don't want to venture very far off the I-95 beaten track, but are willing to go 20-30 miles east or west if the view is worth it.

Any ideas?

Actually contrary to public perception, I-95 can provide access to some pretty wonderful places and attractions. The best book I have ever found is the I-95 guide written by the Posners that I reviewed earlier this year.
