My girlfriend and I are looking to spend 18 days in September doin a US RoadTrip. Her only requirement is we spend a day in San Francisco. I want to do some of Route66, so figure we can spend a day in SF (where we fly into), then drive down the coast to LA, jump onto 66 (parts of + lots of jumping on / off to see sites etc.), and finally drop off down to Dallas where we fly out (even this is flexible) Any suggestions for an itinery? Have read a fair few guide books, but its hard to figure out a realistic distance/time plan. Cheers!
