My wife, 8 lb dog, and I are planning a 10-12 day (roundtrip) roadtrip from SA to the Fl Keys with our kayak on the roof. We'd like to kayak (for 2-3 hours) in each town/area that we stop in but realize that this may not be possible. We are likely making our first stop in Port Arthur Tx, but if the kayaking is better in Galvaston, then we'd certainly consider it. Is there a way to find places along the way to kayak and stay at a place that accepts pets?

A perfect query for this forum -- well thought-out and concisely stated -- unfortunately -- this is the first time I have been faced with those exact parameters and so it may take a while to come up with some useful suggestions...
Have you tried the new Beta version of the MSN search? I ran the following query "kayak motels + pets + florida" and found a bunch of possibilities.
In the meantime, I will do some looking at our other resources.
