We plan on driving to Washinton DC for work and would like advic

Hi, my husband, daughter (15yrs) & I will be traveling to Washington DC for work and we plan on driving and seeing sites on the way out and back. We are starting from Green Bay, WI heading to Indiana for a concert and ending up in Warsaw, Indiana for two days. Then we need some suggestions from there.
Does anyone have any advice on sites to see to and from Green Bay? My husband is a big history buff and he has some plans; however, I would like to have a better attenuary. We also are taking the tent to camp out a few nights. Any suggestion on campsites would be great too.
