Need suggestions for scenic route from Miami to Northern NJ
My wife and I are planning to drive from Miami to Northern NJ sometime in March '04. We want to take mostly scenic routes, try and do a big "C", our western limit being Houston, TX and northern limit being Chicago, IL.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I am big into photography and we'll be driving in our trusty(hopefully!) Altima.
Not exactly a direct route, eh?
I don't know much about the attractions of Alabama and Mississippi, but there's got to be plenty of beauty along the coastal waterway between you and New Orleans and beyond, even. Also, I'd make a point of routing through the northern Arkansas hills, and check out some of the caverns and hot springs -- also continue into the MO Ozarks, and work your way over to the Great River Road north of St Louis -- see Hannibal, MO, Nauvo, Il, and on east from there. OR, from northern Arkansas go directly east and see Tennesee and Kentucky, the Great Smokies and the Blue Ridge area! You'll be able to find lots of opportunities to explore, see attractions and visit some history in these places. Bob
