A friend and I will be driving from New Orleans to Boston, with "required" stops in DC and New Haven. We're northeast natives, so advice on places and restaurants to see especially in the South would be appreciated. For example, previous work trips to the South have helped me discover The Varsity in Atlanta and Maurice's BBQ in Columbia... more unique places like those would be appreciated.
